 About the Program

The NODA Internship Program matches orientation, transition, and retention (OTR) professionals and host institutions with energetic, dedicated students looking to expand their OTR experience and make lasting connections in the field.

On average, the NODA Internship Program attracts 475 graduate student members as internship candidates and 200 host institutions. In 2017, over 50% of applicants accepted a position with one of our host institutions.

NODA internships encompass a wide range of responsibilities and provide interns with transferable skills such as student staff supervision, diversity training and awareness, welcome week programs, parent and family programs, and program assessment.

 How It Works

NODA's Internship Program is designed to facilitate the matching of motivated, quality students with challenging, exciting OTR positions at NODA member institutions across the U.S. and Canada.

This is accomplished by bringing together these candidates and hosts through our online tool, which fosters:

  • centralized communication
  • manage applications
  • schedule interviews
  • confirm candidate / internship matches

Starting in November, hosts and NODA graduate student members who have paid the internship program fee have access to this online tool to build profiles. These profiles act as internship listings for the hosts and resumes for the candidates. In December, the application process begins!
